Wednesday morning began with another visit to one of DC's many think tanks, The Brookings Institute, for a meeting with Visiting Fellow in the Center on the United States & Europe, Célia Benin. Ms. Benin is an expert in transatlantic relations, and US foreign policy toward Europe, among many other topics, making her the perfect person to meet with and discuss the transatlantic order and its future. Specifically, Ms. Benin also has experience working in French politics and foreign policy, having served with the French foreign ministry prior to her fellowship at Brookings, so naturally, the upcoming French elections were of great interest to her and the group during the visit.
For the afternoon, the KU Leuven students took a tour of the American University campus, seeing the beautiful SIS building, the lovely quad outside the library, and a stop at the Mary Graydon Center to visit the AU gift shop! Can't believe the week is already more than half-way over! Time is going by far too quickly.
