On March 6th, the AU students and KU Leuven students finally got to meet in person! After a leisurely morning spent enjoying breakfast at the hotel, the AU student and several KU Leuven students came together to visit the Leuven City Botanical Gardens. After enjoying the pleasant weather as well as appreciating the curated flora and fauna, the group took a walk to the KU Leuven campus and enjoyed drinks and conversation together. 
The true highlight of the day was when all the AU and KU Leuven students got together to enjoy drinks, music, and a truly delicious pot-luck dinner provided by the KU Leuven group. This author was able to sample the entire selection, and can objectively say, everything was fantastic. The selection included from the UK, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Germany, France, and Denmark, just to name a few.
A great first full day in Belgium, setting an auspicious tone for the rest of the trip and the rest of the semester moving forward.
